The Partners

John Wood
JWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield.
John trained as a Solicitor in Leeds before qualifying
in 1986. He became a partner in a West Yorkshire general
Practice in 1991 and was instrumental in establishing
the John Wood Partnership in 2000. John is a member of
the Law Society Specialist Children Panel and also a Criminal
Law Accredited Duty Solicitor with 22 years experience
in Family and Criminal Law.

Jane Curnin
JWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield.
Jane holds degrees in Applied Social Science and English.
Upon qualification, she practiced Child Care Law for a
Local Authority Legal Department, establishing extensive
experience in Public Law Care Proceedings and Adoption
before entering private practice in 1995. Jane is one
of the founding Partners of John Wood Partnership solicitors
and is highly regarded by courts, professionals in Child
Care and fellow practitioners, as an exceptional advocate,
acting in complex Child Care cases in the Family Proceedings,
County and High Courts.

John Wilkinson
JWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield.
John Wilkinson qualified in 1996 and spent an initial
period as an Assistant Solicitor in private practice specialising
in Criminal Law. John was a co-founder in setting up JWP Solicitors. John holds the Higher Rights of
Audience (Criminal Courts) qualification, enabling him
to conduct cases himself without a Barrister at the Crown
Court. He is also an accredited Criminal Law Duty Solicitor
and has extensive advocacy experience in the Magistrate
and Crown Courts as well as dealing with cases before
the Court of Appeal and European Court of Human Rights.

Wendy Campbell
JWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield.
Wendy graduated in 1988 from Teeside University with law
degree. She has many years experience in Family Law, and
ancillary relief (financial disputes), particularly in
cases involving business assets and pensions. Wendy also
has vast experience with children proceedings such as
residence, contact and applications to remove children
out of the jurisdiction of England and Wales. Wendy Campbell is an Accredited member of Resolution, a Collaborative Lawyer and an Accredited member of the Children Panel, becoming a partner in 2003.

Amanda Steele
JWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield. Amanda graduated
in 1993 with a law degree. She worked as Head of the Family
Law Department at a Private Practice for four years before
joining the JWP Solicitors Family Law Department in 2002, becoming
a partner in 2006. Amanda has dealt with all aspects of
Family Law, including ancillary relief, pensions, Child
Care Law and domestic violence. She has extensive advocacy
experience and specialises in child cases and domestic
violence. Amanda is also an Accredited Specialist of the
Solicitors' Family Law Association and is an SFLA member.
Daniel SmithJWP
Solicitors Partner, Leeds/Wakefield.
Daniel obtained an LLB Hons in 1998 having previously
worked in stock management/retailing for a West Yorkshire
plc dealing with a multi-million pound budget. Daniel's
training was with a Private Practice firm; primarily in
Criminal Law and he joined the John Wood Partnership in
2003 as a qualified specialist Criminal Law Duty Solicitor,
being one of the first solicitors in Yorkshire to obtain
the Criminal Litigation Accreditation qualification. Daniel
represents clients at the Police Station and at both the
Magistrates' and Crown Courts. He specialises in road
traffic defence work and established our rescuemylicence.com
department. He became a partner of the firm in 2006.

Our Team
Gareth Long
JWP Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Gareth trained as a solicitor in Canterbury,
Kent and qualified in 2003. He obtained post-qualification experience
with a Practice in Kent before relocating with his family to West
Yorkshire and joining JWP Solicitors Family Law Department
in 2004.
Suzanne Smith
JWP Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Suzanne qualified as a solicitor in
2003. She obtained post-qualification experience with a city practice
in Leeds specialising in residential conveyancing before joining the
John Wood Partnership in 2005 to develop and expand a property and
conveyancing department to meet the demands of Wakefield's thriving
business community.
Katie Edmondson
JWP Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Katie graduated with an Honours degree
in Law at Sheffield Hallam University before completing her post-graduate
studies at the College of Law in York. She undertook 2 years training
at a criminal defence specialist firm before returning to Yorkshire
when she qualified as a solicitor in March 2002. She is an accredited
police station and court duty solicitor working in all areas of criminal
and road traffic defence work. She has a particular interest in defending
young people.
Emma Radley
JWP Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Emma graduated from Liverpool University
in 2004 with an Hons degree in Law. She then obtained a Post Graduate
Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in York. During
this time she participated in the Street Law project which is a pro
bono scheme to deliver legal rights awareness in the Doncaster New
Deal for Communities area. Emma qualifed as a solicitor in December
2007.
Annie Walsh
JWP Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Annie graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2001 and completed her Post Graduate Studies at the College of Law in York before training with a small high street firm in Lancashire. Annie relocated back to Yorkshire in 2007 and joined JWP Solicitors in July 2008. Annie deals with all aspects of Family Law and has a particular interest in child related issues.
Heidi Fleming
JWP Trainee Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield.
Heidi joined JWP in September 2007. She has an honours degree in law
from Lincoln University and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice
from Leeds Metropolitan University.
Andrew Brown
JWP Personal Injury Solicitor, Leeds/Wakefield. Andrew qualified as a Solicitor in 1983 having graduated from Leeds University with an Honours Degree in Law. Over the last 18 years he has specialised in Personal Injury Claims of all types and level including problems arising from medical treatment, and has a longstanding membership of both the Solicitors Regulation Authority Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
